Alagappa University is a public university located in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1985 by an Act of the Tamil Nadu government. The university has been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).Alagappa University offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses through its Directorate of Distance Education (DDE).
